Acute or long-standing hardships can trigger a myriad of emotions, thoughts, and reactions that shape our sense of self and our relationships. If you find it increasingly difficult to cope with stressors stay emotionally regulated, and connect to others, I may be able to help. My approach to therapy is compassionate, culturally responsive, collaborative, and non-pathologizing. Further, I am informed by multiple perspectives. Notably, I believe that societal influences significantly contribute to the way people receive, process, and respond to stress, problems, trauma, and relationships.

In addition to being a clinician, I'm also a published researcher, associate professor, and Director of the Marriage and Family Therapy Program at San Diego State University.
